EDITOR’S CHOICE!
Ever since my husband educated me on the magic and wonder that is Tim Cappello in the Lost Boys (and his “coughem” piece) I have imagined hiring him for a throw back party. Well, the Universe has provided! Although I cannot get answers from the promoter about what he will be wearing - its likely to be fun. Bonus, he’ll be playing his throwback iconic tune from the vampy classic. Break out the hairspray for this one.
Tim Cappello (The Lost Boys, Tina Turner’s band) will be performing at this event on June 29th at The Redford Theatre in Detroit. Tim plays the saxophone and will be playing his infamous song from The Lost Boys as well as his own rock tunes.
SUNDAY JUNE 30
Improvisational Blues-Rock Band - Jc & the Disciples, will be rocking the Blue Goose in Saint Clair Shores, playing Tracks from their Debut album "Hammered" and their soon-to-be-released "Woolly Mammoth and Other Assorted Sweets".

Editor’s Choice Rant….
Have you checked out the Sunday Sip yet?
Chuck has a few things to say about how one Spotify CEO’ believes creating “content” costs next to ZERO and worth a read HERE. For my part, the ridiculous things a lot of people say about creators and creating (especially music) barely register with me for more than a few seconds recently because thinking about it too much becomes a waste of time. But….
“Today, with the cost of creating content being close to zero, people can share an incredible amount of content”.
So Says Daniel EK…… The billionaire CEO of the company that just cut payouts to “creators” on Spotify….
Maybe that’s content from AI….But do we want music from AI or to experience the human interconnection of creating, sharing, listening and loving? Or loathing? It is quite ludicrous but these are the guys with the money telling us what is possible and what’s preferable.
But the thing Ai and even gobs of cash can’t replace is the desire for human interconnection and community, things for which music has historically excelled at acting as a catalyst. Sharing angst, creating unexpected friendships over good music… The joy of hearing someone nail a solo, hit the note or a near miss. Feeling real…
So, if I can suggest to you - do the things encourage others to keep creating and support those who do not create roadblocks but support them in meaningful ways, and educate others.
One recommendation I have is to support the artists you love on BandCamp - they are beyond fair to artists and help them put more money in their pockets so they can keep creating. Buy a download there or buy one for a friend if you stream on Spotify.
The first Friday of every month, Bandcamp forgoes their cut of artists sales. So next week I’ll be soliciting those with music there to share their links so I can pass them on. That is all…
